Welcome to the Year of the Black Water Tiger.😍

Black is for careers so now is the time to get that job!👍👍👍

In 2022 we can all expect an incredibly fast paced, dynamic and energetic year with plenty of surprises.

It's going to be exciting because some of you are going to be taking massive leaps of faith and go for exciting and challenging new jobs (ask me for help with your interview skills).

Don't wait for the perfect job to come to you. Go out and get it!

Others are going to be saying, hey I'm too stressed and pressured I want to step back and figure out if this career is really what I want (good move but don't ease off on your English).

Tiger years are full of energy, spontaneous and impulsive so expect rules and regulations to be relaxed (Boris & Biden both relax covid rules this week!).

For those of you who were wishing for more certainty - forget it. We're on a roller coaster ride and there's no getting off till 2023!

So if you haven’t made time to improve your English let’s get you started right now.

One Idiom

Ahead of the curve.

Meaning: People/products that are more advanced/modern than others of their kind

He sold his shares in Nokia and put his money into Apple, because he realised they were way ahead of the curve, their innovation and modern approach is just so far above everyone else.

One conversation starter

Making small talk can be hard because it's difficult to think of things to say after you've asked them about the weather and their journey.

I am going to give you a little help and suggest some topics each month. They may seem a little random but trust me - random, strange, weird you are going to learn to love them because they work.

This months topic is:

Coffee

One little sentence:

Do you prefer tea or coffee?

This starts your conversation.

If they say coffee then you tell them about the most delicious coffee you had on holiday or the time you drank the famous cat poop coffee.

The point is it opens the door to talk about travel and experiences which will expand the conversation and create a good opportunity to connect.

One word

Vital

If you are not using this word, start now. It’s a great word that tells people that something is super urgent or important.

It is vital that you start improving your English now.

It is vital that you complete the information and return the forms by 22.02.

It is a vital piece of evidence.

Do you see how vital, vital can be.

Now go ahead, use them in a conversation or in a letter and make them fly!

It's been great connecting with you.

Happy New Year!

Live Strong, Love & Prosper
